LAPD Shoots "Less Lethal" Rounds Directly At Homeless Man Who Was Not Protesting

A protest in downtown Los Angeles that drew thousands this week ended with dozens of demonstrators arrested and several injured after LAPD officers fired rubber bullets as dozens entered an apartment building seeking refuge with the help of one of the residents who opened the door.
As they move against the protesters, the officers shot a homeless man in a wheelchair right above his left eye, drawing blood and a large welt.
Paramedics tended to the man, but his condition was unclear. LAPD spokeswoman Officer Rosario Cervantes said the department had no comment on the incident at this time. A photo of the man and his injury was being reviewed by the department.
Observers have accused law enforcement of being overly confrontational with peaceful protesters, while not responding assertively to looters and vandals, who have ransacked scores of businesses in the past week.
