‘They Destroyed My Life’: Woman Sues Clinic After IVF Embryo Mix-up

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - It’s an error that one Savannah woman is calling unimaginable and every IVF patient’s worst nightmare.

Now she’s suing a local fertility clinic, claiming they transferred her the wrong embryo, leading the woman to give birth to a baby that was not biologically related to her.

The lawsuit claims it took place at Coastal Fertility Specialists. They’re based out of the Charleston area but have a satellite office in Savannah.

Krystena Murray,38, spoke out for the first time on Tuesday about what a new lawsuit says happened to her.

I considered a lot of options and a lot of things that could go wrong, but this was never, ever a thought in my mind,” Murray said.

She says once she gave birth in 2023 after undergoing IVF, she knew something was wrong.

The 41-page suit claims the baby was African American while Murray and her sperm donor were both white.
