Even though he was a member, Isaac Hayes apparently decided to give the Church of Scientology the shaft in his last will and testament.
According to Fox News columnist Roger Friedman, sources said that the Oscar-winning "Shaft" composer left portions of his estate to 11 elder children, his wife and young son, and his charitable foundation.
Nothing, however, was left for the Church of Scientology, the sources said.
Hayes' ties to Scientology became very public in 2005 when he quit his voice role of Chef on "South Park," over objections to the way the animated show criticized the religion.
Hayes died of a stroke in August at age 65.
The musician-actor has a supporting role in the upcoming comedy, "Soul Men," due in theaters in November.
